Who is the service for?
Slough Walk-in Health Centre offers patients quick access to a wide range of nurse and GP services at times to suit you.
Anyone can walk into the Slough Walk-in Health Centre and see a nurse without an appointment, whether they are registered with a
GP or not. If the nurse feels an appointment with a GP is required, this can be arranged.
What do they do?
Services include treatment for minor injuries and illnesses, such as ear infections and rashes, cuts and burns, as well as blood pressure checks and emergency contraceptive.
People who are not registered with a GP at Slough Walk-in Health Centre can access:
- Nurse appointments (and GP appointments if required) for minor illnesses or injuries, seven days a week, from 8am - 8pm
- Emergency contraception
- Travel vaccination clinics (pre-booked appointment required)
- Dressing clinics (10am to 2pm; pre-booked appointment required)
Patients who are registered with a GP at Slough Walk-in Health Centre have access to:
- GP appointments seven days a week, from 8am - 8pm
- Practice nurse appointments
- Cervical screening, IUCD fitting and contraceptive services
- Baby immunisations, vaccinations and child health queries
- Maternity care and neo-natal checks
- Clinics focussed on supporting patients with long term conditions, including diabetes, asthma and COPD
- Health checks and lifestyle advice on smoking, alcohol and weight management
- Travel clinics
- Flu clinics
- Minor injuries/ minor surgery
- Dressing and wound care services
- Blood pressure and bloog glucose monitoring
Patients can use Slough Walk-in Health Centre as well as their own GP if they are registered with one. You can register as a patient at the Slough Walk-in Health Centre if you live within the boundaries of Slough Borough Council.
